Bangladesh Bank has directed all commercial banks of the country to remain open till 8 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov 29) and Thursday (Nov 30) to facilitate income tax deposit. A notification was issued in this regard on Tuesday following request from National Board of Revenue (NBR).
This direction was sent to the chief executives of the commercial banks. The direction of the central bank mentioned, the concerned branches of the commercial banks will be opened till 8 p.m. on Nov 29 and 30.
Pay order facility should be active till 8 p.m. in these two nights for the benefit of tax payers for submitting their income tax. It also said, all the branches of banks should remain open till 8 p.m. in these two days ensuring security.
Nov 30 is the last date for submitting income tax return for individuals for the tax year 2017-18.
