A grand gala celebrating 15th anniversary of Southeast University (SEU) took place on Wednesday (Nov 22) at the permanent campus of the university at Tejgaon, Dhaka.
The ceremony was inaugurated by the chief guest of the programme Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, MP, Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. He expressed his satisfaction at the progress of the university in the last 15 years and congratulated the Board of Trustees, administration and faculty members for strong leadership.
The ceremony was also attended by the special guest Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Southeast University Trust.
He highlighted the standard of education and environment of the university, facilities of the students and above all, the overall success and the development of the university within 15 years. He expressed his firm conviction of transforming the university into a world class institution by the year 2030.
The programme was also attended by respected Members of the Board of Trustees, Adviser, Treasurer, Emeritus Professor, Registrar, Deans of different schools, Chairmen of different departments, faculty members, students, media personalities and host of eminent persons. The faculty members and students of the university held a rally to mark this occasion. They also took part in colourful cultural programme.
The ceremony came to an end with the magnificent musical performance by the famous singers Ferdous Wahid and Habib Wahid.
Meanwhile, a two-day Southeast University Chakri.com Career Fair 2017 was inaugurated on Saturday (Nov 25) at its permanent campus. Anisul Islam Mahmud, Water Resources Minister, inaugurated the fair as chief guest, while Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, founder Chairman of Standerd Bank Limited and Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Southeast University Trust, were present as special guest.
