Banglalink Next Tuber ends with a grand finale

The Grand Finale of “Banglalink Next Tuber”- country’s first ever digital reality show, was held on Saturday (Nov 18) in Dhaka. Asaduzzaman Noor, Minister of Cultural Affairs of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was present at the event. Sanjay Vaghasia, Chief Digital Officer, Banglalink, Mostofa Kamal Sayed, Head of Program, NTV and Md. Rezaul Huq, CEO, Radio  Foorti were also present at the occasion, said a press release on Monday (Nov 20).

Launched with a view to inspiring young video content makers, the digital reality show received overwhelming responses from all over the country. Winners were selected from more than 9,000 contestants after carrying out a rigorous selection process throughout the competition. The contestants took part in the competition submitting video contents on education, acting, music, dancing, lifestyle and many other subjects.    

Ahnaf Nasif and Rafid Mahadi, two members of rap-battle based video content channel Fusion Production, exhibited stunning video content making skills throughout the competition and were selected as winners on the basis of the judges’ decision and audience’ likes. Rasel Topu, an entertainment video content maker and Sadman Sadiq, an educative video content maker took the second and third positions respectively. Winners have received Tk 1.5 lakh in cash along with a scope for a training at Google’s Asia-Pacific HQ and the glorious opportunity to be the digital ambassador of Banglalink.  Salman Muktadir, Shouvik Ahmed, Tamim Mridha and Asif Bin Azad, the four popular Youtube celebrities of the country were the judges of the show.  

Sanjay Vaghasia, Chief Digital Officer, Banglalink said, “Banglalink Next Tuber was launched with a view to establishing a digital platform for the young video content makers of the country. We are extremely delighted that Season 1 of the competition ended with a big bang. Banglalink wholeheartedly congratulates the winners, and hopes their success will inspire more youths to come forward and showcase their talents through video productions”

Asaduzzaman Noor, said, “The entertainment media of the country is moving ahead. Video making has arrived as a new medium of entertainment. The active participation of our youths in quality video making has made me very optimistic. This initiative by Banglalink is really praiseworthy. Such initiatives will speed up the process of building a truly digital Bangladesh.”

When asked about the feeling of acquiring the first position, Ahnaf Nasif of Fusion Production said, “Banglalink Next Tuber is one of the turning points of my life. This victory has made the journey for fulfilling my dream easier. More such competitions should be organized in Bangladesh.”

NTV will telecast the Grand Finale on Friday, 24 November at 9 PM. Media partners of “Banglalink Next Tuber” are NTV and Radio Foorti.

“Banglalink Next Tuber” started off through a launching ceremony on Sep 18. The Grand Finale marks the end of the first edition of the popular digital reality show, the release added.
