Regent Airways, owned by business conglomerate Habib Group, started its operation in November 2010 and expanded its wings to international routes in July 2013. So far, it carried around 1.2 million passengers on the domestic routes and over half a million on the international routes.

The Regent also has plans to add Riyadh, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Colombo, Male and Chennai as its international destinations next year.

The Regent Airways held its 7th anniversary night at a hotel on Saturday. The Civil Aviation Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor and Regent Airways Chairman Yasin Ali addressed the function.
