Digital World 2017 starts Dec 6

With the theme 'Ready for Tomorrow', the country's largest ICT Expo "Digital World 2017" will begin on Dec 6 for the fifth time in the capital city. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, while addressing a press conference, disclosed the information to journalists at the Software Technology Park in Dhaka on Thursday (Nov 16).

The event will take place at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre and will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.

ICT Division is organizing the expo with the assistance of Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Access to Information (a2i) programme.

On the second day of the ICT Expo, a ministerial conference will be held on Dec 7 with the participation of the ministers of different countries, including Philippines, Maldives, Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan. Ministers from Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Philippines, Congo and the Maldives are expected to attend the event.

At the venue there will be nine zones: software showcase, e-governance, e-commerce, gaming, experiencing, start-ups, mobile innovation, made-in-Bangladesh and international zone.

ICT Secretary Subir Kishore Choudhury and BASIS Senior Vice-President Russell T Ahmed were also present at the media briefing.
