'Kobiter Khoje' honours 10 young poets

Ra'dia Inc. and Kotha Kobita Abritti have organizsed an inimitable poetry competition event named 'Kobitar Khoje' for young poets and their poems. This initiative is designed to make youths of the country vibrant, literate and creative in Bengali literature and culture.

In this regard, with love, rebellion, passion and urge for youth and excitement, young poets were invoked to submit their self-written poems. The jury board nominated the best 10 poems from many young poets across the country who had sent their poems.

With the joint collaboration of Ra'dia and Kotha Kobita, 'Kobitar Khoje' organized a concluding session and a poetry recitation programe honouring the 10 winners on Friday (Nov 17) evening.

Renowned poet Mohammad Nurul Huda as the chief guest and recitation artist Professor Rupa Chakraborty and the Editor of Jaldhi, Poet Nahida Ashrafi, respectively as special guest were present at the ceremony held at Dipanpur of New Elephant Road in Dhaka. In the programme, crests/award and certificates were presented to the selected 10 poets by the guests.

Speaking as the chief guest, one of the peak poets of the time, Mohammad Nurul Huda said, "Poetry is like a bird which lives everywhere. Just like a bird jumps on a tree bite, poetry is similar. And a poet is a predator. If he/she is able to catch the wicked flying bird, then he'll be a poet, otherwise, a failure predator."

The opted poets of 'Kobitar Khoje 2017' are: Probal Kumar Das, Bappi Bhushan, Mohana, James Anjus, Mahbub Rahman, Ujjwal Bain, Ashik Milton Sarkar, Arif Shamsul, Masuma Runa and Aniket Rajesh.

Syed Rabius Shams, freelance Journalist and chief executive of Ra'dia Inc., and one of the organisers of the event, delivered the welcome speech at the ceremony. Recitation artist Nazmul Ahsan, the coordinator of Kotha Kobita Abriti, and the joint initiator of Kobitar Khoje, expressed his gratitude to all.

Then, from the selected poems and recitation artists' favorite poems were recited by: Dr. Shahadat Hossain Nipu, AKM Samsusddoha, Faizullah Sayd, Nazmul Ahsan, Masum Azizul Basar, Abu Naser Manik, Ahmed Shiplu, Tamanna Sarwar Nipa, Siddiqur Rahman Parvez, Amlan Datta Agh, Enam Azizul Islam, Kazi Bushra Ahmed Tithi, Misbahil Mokar Rabin, Mahfuza Akhtar, Polly Parvin, Khaled Hasan Mun, Khasnur Tabasasum, Sheikh Sadi Marjan, Alamgir Islam Shanto.

The event came to the end with the closing speeches of chief guest and special guest.
