The seventh edition of Dhaka Lit Fest has started at the Bangla Academy premises on Thursday (Nov 16). The inaugural program was arranged at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium. Manipuri Theatre performed a dance with a vow to welcome the visitors with rhythmic efflux.
Dhaka Lit Fest Directors Ahsan Akbar and Sadaf Saaz, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s grandson Radwan Mujib Siddiq Bobby, and Bangla Academy Director General Shamsuzzaman Khan were present at the ceremony, among others.
Hailing the festival a prove of the youth spirit, Shamsuzzaman Khan hopes the festival will find place in everyone’s heart. He also spoke upon the history of Bangla language, Bangali people and culture, the Liberation War of 1971 and Ekushey Book Fair.
75 literatures from 24 countries are attending the sessions of the three-day (Nov 16, 17, 18) literature festival.
