Hamid accepts SK Sinha's resignation letter

President Md. Abdul Hamid on Tuesday (Nov 14) accepted the letter of Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha, seeking resignation from the post of Chief Justice of Bangladesh.

Sources from the president's office said that the resignation letter was accepted in the morning. It will be forwarded to the law ministry on Tuesday, for further action, they added.

Sinha submitted the resignation letter addressing the President, at the Bangladesh High commission in Singapore on Friday (Nov 10), while he was there en route to Canada from Australia.

The letter was received at Bangabhaban Saturday (Nov 11), said Joynal Abedin, the press secretary to President. SK Sinha left Dhaka for Australia, on the night of Oct 13. He was on official leave which ended on Friday.
