President Md. Abdul Hamid on Thursday (Jan 3) officially invited Bangladesh Awami League President Sheikh Hasina to form the new government after her party's massive victory in the 11th parliamentary elections. The president extended the invitation after Sheikh Hasina went to Bangabhaban, the president's official residence, to meet with him, local media reported.
The PM arrived in Bangabhaban in the afternoon. This is the first meeting between the PM with the president after Awami League's landslide victory in the general elections on Sunday (Dec 30).
