A magnificent bowling performance by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman helped Bangladesh to take 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series beating visiting West Indies by five wickets in the first match held on Sunday (Dec 9) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur. Chasing a moderate winning target of 196-run set by West Indies, the Tigers comfortably reached home in 35.1 overs with five wickets in hand.
Bangladesh defeated West Indies by five wickets in the first one-day international at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Sunday (Dec 9).

Mushfiqur Rahim top scored with 55 not out as the Tigers reached their target 196 for the loss of five wickets in 35.1 overs.

Earlier, three wickets each for Mashrafe Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman helped them restrict West Indies to 195-9, as Shai Hope scored 43. 

The second contest of the three-match series will be held at the same ground on Tuesday (Dec 11).
