The much-awaited train service on Dhaka-Panchagarh route started on Saturday (Nov 10) morning, aiming to ease communication with northern districts of the country.
A train of 'Drutojan' express left Panchagarh station for Dhaka this morning, marking first journey on the new route, Railways Ministry sources said.
Two trains - 'Drutojan' and 'Ekota' will run on the route.
Panchagarh-Dhaka-Panchagarh is the longest rail route now. Additional Secretary of Railway Ministry Abul Kalam Azad inaugurated the service waving flag at 7:20 a.m.
