Real Madrid is enduring its worst scoring drought in more than three decades. Alaves scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to hand Madrid a 1-0 loss in the Spanish league on Saturday (Oct 6) and leave the European champions without a goal in four matches in all competitions. The last time Madrid went as long without a goal was 1985.
Real Madrid extended their winless run to four games as Manu Garcia's late goal secured a shock win for Alaves. Garcia headed the winner in the fifth minute of added time to clinch Alaves' first La Liga victory over Real since 1931.
The win moves Alaves joint-top of the table alongside La Liga giants Real and F. C. Barcelona.
Julen Lopetegui's side have now lost three times in four matches without scoring.
