Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has turned 20! At this auspicious moment grand celebration programs have been organized. On Saturday (Oct 6) the celebration kicked off with Youth Fest at Hatirjheel in Dhaka. Posts, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar was present as chief guest at the program. ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Nahim Razzaq, MP, Shariyatpur-3, and a2i’s Peoples Perspective Specialist Naimuzzaman Mukta were present as special guests.
BASIS 20 Years Celebration Committee’s Convener and former president H N Karim, founding president of BASIS A Touhid, BASIS president Syed Almas Kabir, BASIS Senior vice-president Farhana A Rahman, vice-president (Admin) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, vice-president (finance) Mushfiqur Rahman, Director Tamzid Siddiq Spondon and BASIS Youth Fest’s Convener Delowar Hossain Faruk were present.
At the opening speech Youth Fest’s convener said, "We are organizing this event along with skill development for mobile game and application project, ICT Division."
The program highlights:

- LRB, Parvez & many more will participate at the concert
- Project showcasing
- Skill development for mobile game & application project innovation workshop
At his speech the chief guest said, "BASIS was founded back in 1998 with the vision to accelerate the growth of Bangladesh’s ICT sector. Now it’s the APEX Body of ICT sector. Students are the heart and soul of Digital Bangladesh. I am delighted to see that, comprising of 26 thousand students BASIS Students Forum has organized this mega event. BASIS 20 years has started under the leadership of BASIS Student’s Forum. From this forum leader of tomorrow’s Digital Bangladesh will emerge. I wish all the success to BASIS."
Special guest ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, "BASIS got founded 20 years ago. I firmly believe, leaders will emerge from BASIS Student’s Forum who will play a prominent role to build developed Bangladesh and achieve the milestone of building Developed Bangladesh within 2041. Under the guidance of our Hon’ble Prime Minister we are working relentlessly to build Digital Bangladesh. This Youth Fest’s highlights the capabilities of our Youths to lead us towards better tomorrow."

BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said, "All the partners of BASIS will come together to celebrate the success. BASIS’s 20 Years will highlight 20 glorious and uprising years of Bangladesh’s ICT sector. As the apex body of ICT Industry, we will take our stakeholders on a journey of success."
Apart from Youth Fest, BASIS Women’s Forum will organize Celebrating Women at Work. We are going to organize weeklong E-Commerce Festival offering special discounts for customers. We are going to organize a networking program with national-international stakeholders, launch BASIS history book and above all end with grand gala night."
