The government has declared Jul 30 as general holiday in Rajshahi, Barishal, and Sylhet city corporation areas centering the elections in the three city corporations.
The government declared the holiday on Monday (Jul 23) to enable the employees of all government, semi-government, autonomous bodies and institutions, private institutions, government and private educational institutions of the areas to exercise their voting rights, said an official release.
However, if any public examination is scheduled on the day, examination centers and teachers and employees concerned will remain out of this holiday purview, local media reports said.
