Tazin Ahmed laid to eternal rest

Popular Bangladeshi TV actor and anchor Tazin Ahmed, who died after a cardiac arrest at a city hospital on Tuesday (May 22), was buried at Banani graveyard in Dhaka Wednesday (May 23). Her Namaj-e-Janaja was held after Zohr prayers at Azad mosque in Gulshan. She was buried in her father’s grave, at the graveyard.

Tazin Ahmed, 43, breathed her last while undergoing treatment at Regent Hospital in Uttara, around 4:30 pm Tuesday. She was kept on life support for several hours, following a cardiac arrest at her residence in Uttara.

Born in Noakhali on Jul 30 in 1975, Tazin stepped into her acting career through appearing in TV play ‘Shesh Dekha Shesh Noy’ aired in BTV in 1996.

He married musician Rumi Rahman, after getting separated from her first husband Ejaj Munna.

Apart from her acting career, Tazin also engaged herself in journalism. She worked in Bangla dailies ‘Prothom Alo’ and ‘Bhorer Kagoj’.

According to several sources, she also served as the cultural affairs divisional secretary of National Democratic Movement (NDM).

Tazin’s death has gripped the country’s showbiz realm with profound shock and mourning.
