Bangladesh Nationalist Party wants to stage rallies across the country including the capital city on Monday (May 7), demanding unconditional release of their convicted party Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and ‘‘proper’’ treatment of her. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at a press briefing at BNP central party office in Nayapaltan on Sunday, according to a news report.
For Dhaka, the rally will be held in front of the central party office at 2:00 a.m. Monday, he added.
Adviser to BNP chief Khaleda Zia Abul Khair Bhuiyan, Joint Secretary General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Assistant Office Secretaries Munir Hossain, Taiful Islam Tipu and Belal Hossain, among others, attended the press briefing.
