DMP bans firecrackers during Lailatul Barat

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all types of fireworks in the city on the occasion of the holy Lailatul Barat on the night of May 1. DMP Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia issued a press release on Monday (Apr 30), local media reports said.

The DMP enforced the ban under Section 28 of the DMP Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance-1976 (Ord. No. III of 1976). 

The restriction will come into force from 6 p.m. on May 1 to 6 a.m. on May 2. During this time, all types of explosives, crackers as well as explosion of firecrackers are banned.

DMP Commissioner requested city dwellers to abide by this restriction imposed on them for their well-being.
