The Arts Faculty of Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday (Apr 24) conferred Dean’s Award to 129 students of 16 departments for their outstanding academic results in graduate and post graduate examinations in the years 2015 and 2016.
The faculty also conferred ‘Dean Merit Award for Teachers’ on two teachers. They are Prof Abul Kalam Sarker of Persian Language and Literature Dept, and Prof Aksadul Alam of History Dept, for their best research activities.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof Md. Akhtaruzzaman distributed certificates and crests among the awardees at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus in the morning.
Dean of the Arts faculty Prof Abu Md. Delwar Hosain presided over the function where Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) Prof Nasreen Ahmad and Prof Syed Manzoorul Islam spoke.
