President Md. Abdul Hamid will be sworn in as the head of the state for a second consecutive term on Tuesday (Apr 24) as parliament unanimously decided to entrust him with the presidency for another tenure.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place in the evening. Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury will administer his oath of office at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, local media reports said citing President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin. All necessary preparations were taken on the occasion.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Chief Justice, former Presidents of the country, Judges, cabinet members, lawmakers, senior politicians, diplomats and other dignitaries are expected to be present there.
