PM shortens Singapore visit

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns home from Singapore on Tuesday (Mar 13) cutting short her four-day official visit by a day following the crash of a Bangladeshi plane in Nepal, local media reports said. According to a release issued by the PM’s Press Wing on Monday, Sheikh Hasina will come back home due to the crash of a US-Bangla Airlines aircraft.

The premier to Singapore on Sunday on a four-day official visit at the invitation of her Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.

Sheikh Hasina has already talked to Nepalese PM Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli over telephone from Singapore to inquire about the plane crash. She said Bangladesh will send a helping team to Nepal right after the resumption of operation in Tribhuban Airport to assist the Nepalese team in the rescue operation of the US Bangla Airlines plane crash incident.” Bangladesh will extend all sorts of necessary support,” she said.
