Hajj flights begin from Jul 14

The Hajj flights carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia will start from Jul 14 this year, says Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman. Meanwhile, the registration process of hajj pilgrims for traveling under government management has begun on Thursday (Mar 1) and will continue till Mar 11. The minister inaugurated the registration at his ministry Thursday, local media reports said.

As many as 774 Hajj agencies were given approval to send Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia this year, said the minister. Besides, 193 agencies, which are accused of various irregularities and corruptions last year, were rejected for the Hajj operation this year.

According to the Hajj agreement with Saudi Arabia, a total of 127,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh will be able to perform the pilgrimage this year. Of them, 7,198 will perform Hajj under government management and 1,20,000 under private management.
