Musician Ali Akbar Rupu no more

Music composer and director Ali Akbar Rupu is no more. He passed away at the United Hospital in the capital on Thursday (Feb 22). He was 57.

Rupu had been suffering from heart and kidney diseases and was on dialysis for the last seven months. He suffered a stroke on Feb 9 while receiving dialysis. He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and hosts of relatives.

Ali Akbar Rupu composed songs for popular programme Ittadi for twenty five years. He had composed many popular songs like 'Proti Shishur Sukh' sung by Sabina Yasmin, 'Jaarey Ghar Dila Shangshar Dila' sung by Kumar Bishwajit, 'Paddo Patar Pani Noy' sung by Andrew Kishore, 'Jaantey Cheo Na Kon Shey Bedonatey' sung by Samina Chowdhury and others.
