Southeast University (SEU) organized the “Literature Award Giving Ceremony 2017” on Sunday (Feb 11) at its permanent campus at Tejgaon, Dhaka. Presided over by Prof. Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of SEU, the ceremony was attended by Asaduzzaman Noor MP, Minister, Ministery of Cultural Affairs, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh as the chief guest.
Md. Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Southeast University Trust, was present as the guest of honor. Eminent educationist Emeritus Professor Dr. Anisuzzaman, and Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan, Director General of Bangla Academy, were present as special guests at the program.
Emeritus Professor Serajul Islam Choudhury and fiction writer Badrun Nahar received the Southeast University Literature Award 2017. Dr. Anisuzzaman, and Professor Shamsuzzaman Khan were awarded lifetime achievement gold medal at the event.
Later a cultural event was organized where artists of the Southeast University Cultural Club performed. Members of BoT, SEU Trust, Registrar, Deans, Chairmen, Directors of different departments of SEU were present in the program.
