A day after giving instruction to mobile phone operators to slow down internet speed, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission on Monday (Feb 12) directed them to keep internet service undisrupted. President of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh MA Hakim confirmed the matter in the morning, local media reports said.
As per the Sunday’s instruction, the operators slowed down internet speed for around 10 minutes on Monday morning. Later, the speed became normal again following the new instruction.
Earlier, on Sunday BTRC instructed mobile phone operators to curb the internet speed from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on the exam days from Feb 12 to Feb 24 and from 12:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Feb 18 in a bid to prevent question paper leakage during the ongoing Secondary School Certificate examinations.
