The first reunion of Dhaka University (DU) Institute of Statistical Research and Training (ISRT) was held on Satuday (Jan 27) on the campus amid festivity. DU Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the day's programme as the chief guest by releasing balloons, said a press release.
ISRT Director Dr Md Israt Rayhan and Professors of the institute Dr M Sekander Hayat Khan and Md Hasinur Rahaman Khan delivered welcome speech in the function, the release also said. Prof Akhtaruzzaman thanked reunion organizing committee, incumbent and former students and teachers of the institute and said alumni are a key element for making the university ranking high.
He urged the alumni of the institute to imbibe spirit of the humanity into the new generation. Later, a colorful procession, led by DU VC Akhtaruzzaman, was brought out from the ISRT premises and paraded main streets of the campus.
